Say hi to the new Blog help...

Schlafly Pumpkin Ale

Yeah!!!! Pumpkin Ale is here… the Pumpkin Ale is here.

Sitting in front of a nice crackling fire, and sipping on this dark reddish orange brown beer. It tastes like dessert in a bottle, and what could be better? Oh Yea, actually having a fire to sit in front of. Are you kidding me it is like a hundred and five out there? Well not quite, but it was, and I am not sure I am ready for fall when the peak of summer just finished. That being said, I am so ready for this beer. Schlafly has become a strong part of my “beer fridge backbone”, and Pumpkin Ale certainly has a special spot reserved.

When I think of this beer I remember carrot cake or pumpkin pie. A nice blend of clove and cinnamon, sweet but not too sweet. I will admit that I have a problem with “flavored” beer in general. I find that it is not done very well, very often. This one is! Schlafly has proven time after time, that they know balance, and Pumpkin Ale is a great example of that.

Final note: If you are a person who normally shy away from flavored beer or don’t know what all this Oktoberfest stuff is about, try this beer. Even if it is the only time you leave your comfort zone this season, this will be a solid choice.

P.S. Aaron is still here, and we both miss you. There will be more pumpkin beers arriving every week, and as they arrive we will be tasting them. So come in and see us on Thursday nights for beer tasting from 5-8pm.

P.P.S. Do not scroll down!

Don't say I did not warn you!

  1. Thanks for updating this thing. I'd be more likely to make the drive out there if I knew what you had. Although every time I do go out there, I find something good.
